Former Quarry Rovers player, Gboly Ariyibi has been has been handed a two-and-half year contract by League 1 side Chesterfield. Gboly, 20, joined the Derbyshire club last summer on a short-term deal and has now been rewarded for a series of eye-catching performances at the promotion hopefuls. Chesterfield boss Paul Cook this week described Gboly as a “very, very exciting young prospect”.
A gifted and hard-working player, Gboly represented Quarry Rovers at under 9 and under 10 before joining the renowned Southampton academy. He made his full professional debut for Leeds United in January 2014.
